The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to take photographs of all new under trial prisoners for the records and reference of courts and jails. Quoting official sources, AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that initially the under trials appearing before the court for remand through video conferencing will be photographed.Lucknow has been selected to implement the pilot Project. Forensic Science Laboratory has been assigned to conduct the photography with the help of the Department of Law.
