A new mining policy will soon be formulated to check illegal mining in the Uttar Pradesh. The state revenue minister Ambika Chaudhary told reporters in Gorakhpur today that the illegal mining is causing damage to the environment and flash floods in the rivers. The minister said that the new policy will have a transparent sytem of bidding for awarding mining contracts. He said the state officials will hold meeting with their counterparts in Bihar to find ways to check the flash flash floods that are causing damage of life and property in the bordering areas of Uttar Pradesh every year.
