Uttar Pradesh Trade Tax Department has raided the premises of 8 Kanpur based companies manufacturing tobacco products on charges of evading taxes worth about 150 crores of rupees. Quoting official sources, AIR correspondent reports that the officials have unearth business transaction worth 900 crore of rupees without paying taxes. Cash worth 22 lakh rupees was also seized during raids.
