UP state employees go on indefinite strike

<br/>In Uttar Pradesh as many as six lakh state employees have gone on an indefinite strike from today to protest the police action on them and demand implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.<br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that state government has declared this strike illegal and nearly 12 union leaders have been arrested on the several charges including for damaging public property and provoking employees.<br/><br/>Earlier on Thursday police had to resort to lathi charge and use canon water to disperse the mob of agitating employees at several places in Lucknow including in front of the UP Assembly on the first day of its Budget session. <br/><br/>Meanwhile most of the opposition parties have criticised the police lathi charge against government employees.
