In Uttar Pradesh, 23 special courts have been set up in different districts and divisional headquarters for quick disposal of cases related to economic offences and food security and adulteration activities of food grains and spurious medicines. Quoting official sources our Allahabad correspondent reports that the state law department has set up special courts at Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi, Bareilly and Meerut district . Similarly special courts have been set up at all 18 divisional headquarters of Agra, Aligarh, Allahabad, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Basti, Chitrakoot, Devipatan, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Saharanpur and Varanasi for hearing of cases related to Food and Drug Authority of the state. These courts have been asked for quick disposal of the cases falls under their jurisdiction.The government has also set up a court of Additional District and Session judge at Bansi in Siddharthnagar district.
