UP: Situation in clash hit Saharanpur tense but under control

In Uttar Pradesh, the situation in clash hit Saharanpur remains tense but under control. The district administration relaxed curfew for four hours in Old city area.

No untoward incident reported during curfew relaxation period. AIR correspondent reports, second phase of curfew relaxation will be from 3 PM to 7 PM in New city area.

As earlier announced, curfew was not be lifted from Ambala Highway area of the city.

During curfew relaxation, people offered prayers at mosques and were seen exchanging Eid greetings.

The district administration has appealed to people for paying Namaj at their nearest Masjids and Eidgahs .Heavy police forces including Central Para Military Forces and PAC are patrolling and officials are keeping vigil on the situation.

Thirty eight people have been arrested and 9 FIR registered. Educational institutions will remain close till tomorrow.

Administration is trying to normalize situation at the earliest and has appealed people not to believe in rumors.
