In Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Aligarh, Lucknow and Jhansi municipal corporations have gone in the favour of BJP, while in Allahabad BSP supported candidate has defeated her nearest BJP rival by the margin of more than 23 thousand votes. In Bareilly, Samajwadi Party supported nominee has won the Mayoral elections. AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that Abhilasha Gupta wife of Mayawati government minister Nand Gopal Gupta alias Nadi has won the mayoral seat at Allahabad. As per results available six mayoral seats out of 12 Municipal Corporations have gone in favour of BJP. Counting for remaining Municipal Corporations, 186 Nagar Palika Parishad and 388 Nagar Panchayats from 71 districts is on amid. Elections in remaining four districts of Kannauj, Ramabai Nagar, Auriya and Mathura will be held on July 18 and 19.
