In Uttar Pradesh, above 44 percent voting is reported till 3 PM in all 15 constituencies of Amethi, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Phulpur, Allahabad, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Bahraich, Kaiserganj, Shravasti, Gonda, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar and Bhadohi.

AIR Correspondent reports from Amethi that over 47 percent voting is reported from Basti, Ambedkarnagar and Faizabad constituencies followed by above 45 percent in Sultanpur, Bahraich and Kaiserganj seats. In the high profile Amethi, Pratapgarh and Kaushambi constituencies 43 percent polling has taken place. Above 44 percent electorates exercised their franchise in Sant Kabir Nagar and Shrawasti seats. Above 42 percent polling is reported from Allahabad and Phulpur. Gonda recorded above 40 percent polling where union Minister Beni Prasad Verma is in contesting.

AIR correspondent reports that the District Election Officer, Amethi has said that action will be initiated against Preeti Sahia, personnel assistant of congress leader Priyanka Gandhi for violation of model code of conduct. He has said persons engaged in electioneering were not allowed to continue in the constituency if they are not voter of the constituency. Heated exchanges were seen between her and BJP nominee Smriti Irani at a polling station under Jagdishpur area.
