The Uttar Pradesh Government has increased State Advised Price, SAP for sugarcane by 25 rupees per quintal for current crushing season. SAP is the rate at which millers buy sugarcane from farmers. The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting Chaired by Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the government has approved 162.50 rupees for rejected variety, 165 rupees for common variety and 170 rupees for early variety.At present, the SAP for sugarcane rules at 140-145 Rupees per quintal in the state.
