<span style="color: #222222;">In Uttar Pradesh, prisoners are helping in war against COVID-19 by making face masks and sanitizers which they not only use themselves but are also being provided to different government agencies and NGO's on a very low price.<br />''<br />'' Director General, Prisons of state, Anand Kumar told AIR that UP prisons have set a record of sorts by stitching more than 1.5 lakh masks in 63 out of the 71 jails in the state over the past 10 days. AIR correspondent reports that at this time when masks and sanitizers are becoming hard to get from the market, the prisoners in jails of UP has shown a way to prepare them on a very low cost i.e. 5 rupees per mask.<br />''<br />''All the inmates in these jails have protective masks. He said they are now in a position to supply masks to the government, NGOs and the general public. The DGP Prison said that sanitizers and disinfectants are also being manufactured in some jails in the state. He added that jail administration has taken all measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 in jails of state.</span><br />
