In Uttar Pradesh, today is the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the third phase of the assembly elections. 9 candidates have withdrawn their nominations while 59 papers have been rejected so far. Polling will be held on February 15.

Today is also the last date for filing nomination for fourth phase while the papers for fifth phase can be filed upto 4th February. The election commission will review poll preparedness for first phase of assembly elections today.

The Chief Electoral officer of the state Mr. Umesh Sinha told AIR correspondent that deputy election Commissioner Alok Shukla will review the poll arrangements at Faizabad with concerned administrative and police officers of all 10 districts going for poll in this phase.
