In Uttar Pradesh, a total of 45 nominations have been filed for first phase of Assembly elections till now. Fifteen candidates filed nominations today.55 constituencies spread over 10 districts from Awadh and Eastern regions of the state are going for poll in this phase. Voting will be held on 8th of next month.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that 4 candidates from ruling Bahujan Samaj Party, 3 from Samajawadi Party and one each from RLD and BJP have filed nominations today.The Election Commission has again replaced Lalitpur and Chandauli District Magistrates.Meanwhile in the drive to check black money and money power in the elections, over 48 lakh rupees of unaccounted money were seized from Varanasi, Meerut, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Bijnore, Sitapur and Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar districts. Police has lodged criminal cases against a sitting MLA and RLD candidates Shahnavaj Rana in Muzaffarnagar districts. 118 packets containing coins of one rupee have been recovered from his vehicle. Police has also recovered about 10 quintal ammonia and 100 electronic detonators in naxal hit district Sonbhadra.
