In Uttar Pradesh, the campaigning for seventh phase of state assembly elections comes to an end this evening. The election for 60 assembly constituencies spread over in 10 districts of western and terai regions will be held on Saturday. As many as 962 candidates including 100 women are trying their luck in this phase.

The political fate of several heavy weights is at stake including Samajwadi Party General Secretary Mohammad Azam Khan, President of Rashtriya Parivartan Dal D.P Yadav, and several past and present ministers.

The Election Commission has made fool-proof security arrangements in the area. Additional paramilitary forces are being deployed at sensitive polling stations. The borders adjoining neighbouring states and neighbouring country Nepal will be sealed 24 hours before polling.
