In Uttar Pradesh, about 52 percent polling has been recorded in 60 assembly constituencies till 3 PM in seventh and last phase of assembly elections. Polling is going on peacefully in 10 districts from Moradabad, Bareilly and Lucknow divisions. It began at 7 AM and it will continue till 5 in the evening.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Jyoti Ba Phole Nagar district recorded maximum of about 56 percent votes, while Badaun district polled minimum of 49 percent. More than 50 to 55 percent polling was reported in 41 segments.Several prominent leaders including Union Minister Jitin Prasad, MPs Jaya Prada, Mohammad Azaharuddin and Mukhtar Abbas Naqui also cast their votes in last phase of elections. Electoral fate of 962 candidates including 100 women will be decided in this phase. This phase covers assembly seats in Ruhelkhand and Tarai regions.Ruling BSP, SP and BJP have fielded their candidates in all constituencies while Congress has left 9 seats to its ally RLD. Left Parties CPI and CPIM have also fielded their nominees in 6 segments. At some places, voting started little late because of technical snag in electronic voting machines but they were rectified immediately. Similarly at several places people have lodged complaints about their names missing from voter’s lists.
