A total of 152 candidates have filed their nominations in Uttar Pradesh for first and second phase of the Assembly elections. Hundred nominations were filed for the first phase while seven were filed for the second phase on Monday.Notification was issued on Monday for second phase of elections. Fifty nine constituencies spread over nine districts from eastern region of the state will be covered in this phase. Polling will be held on February 8 for first phase of elections while February 11 is voting date for second phase.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that most of the major political parties, including the Samajwadi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress, are engaged in gearing up their poll campaigning. Security forces, including the Para Military Forces and Special Armed Forces from different states have conducted flag march in several districts to instill sense of security among voters. About 750 companies of security forces are being deployed in the state for assembly elections.Meanwhile, 201 FIRs have been lodged for alleged violation of model of conduct in the state during last 24 hours.
