In Uttar Pradesh the Election Commission has announced the poll schedule for the biennial election to 11 Rajya Sabha seats which will fall vacant on July 4 as members term expired. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that nominations for the biennial elections begin from 31st of this month with issuance of notification. While the last date for filing nomination papers is June 7, the scrutiny of the papers will be held the next day. Last date for the withdrawal of papers is June 10, and if required, polling will be held on June 17. The 7 members of Samajwadi Party including Kamal Akhtar, Nand Kishore Yadav, Jaya Bachchan, Bhagwati Singh, Ram Naryan Sahu, Amir Alam Khan and Brij Bhushan Tewari , three members of BSP including Ambeth Rajan, Satish Chandra Mishra and Sriram Pal and lone BJP member Arun Shourie are completing their tem on July 4. Our correspondent reports that each candidate will need 34 first preference votes to win the seat.<br/>
