In Uttar Pradesh, the former Chief Medical Officer Lucknow Dr AK Shukla was today arrested by the police in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the state health department. Quoting police sources our Lucknow correspondent reports that he has been arrested from the trauma centre of Lucknow based Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar Medical University. An FIR was lodged at Wazirganj police station on April 7 this year following which Deputy CMO, YS Sachan, administration officer C S Yadav and senior clerk PC Verma were arrested immediately. Dr. Sachan was found dead on June 22 inside a toilet in Lucknow district jail hospital. Two ministers Babu Singh Khushwaha and Anant Kumar Mishra had resigned on moral grounds after the financial irregularities were detected.Meanwhile chief Judicial Magistrate Lucknow Rajesh Kumar Upadhyaya has submitted its judicial probe report into the mysterious death of Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. YS Sachan. The CJM has submitted his report yesterday to the District and Sessions Judge and forwarded copies to District Magistrate and district police chief Lucknow. The Allahabad High Court had asked status report into probe of the Dr. Sachan case while hearing a petition seeking direction for CBI probe.
