In Uttar Pradesh police arrested today 12 persons including one state government employee from different district for their alleged involvement in withdrawing lakhs of rupees from bank accounts of health department in Mirzapur district. Police has sized 29 lakhs rupees in cash and bank drafts from them.<br/><br/>Quoting police sources AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Chief Medical officer of Mirzapur district had filed FIR last month for illegal withdrawal of more than 5 lakhs rupees from different bank accounts of the department. <br/><br/>Similarly City Magistrate of the district also filed FIR from for withdrawing more than 24 lakhs rupees illegally from bank account of National Rural Health Mission. <br/><br/>Arrested persons are from Allahabad, Ballia, Lucknow, Barabanki and Kaushambi districts. Police has said that head clerk of Mirzapur CMO office is main culprit into the scandal who is now in police custody.
