In Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha opposition members voiced concern on rampant wastage of wheat due to lack of storage facilities. Opposition was referring to the reports of 4000 tonnes of wheat dampened in the pre-monsoon showers in Ballia district.Pointing out that 15.82 lakh tonnes storage capacity will be added by October next year, the minister of Food & Civil Supplies Raghuraj Pratap Singh Raja Bhaiyya said that govt will ensure proper warehousing of wheat purchased till last date of procurement on 30th June 2012. He further said that stern actions of punishment and recovery will be taken against lax officials to prevent food grain wastage.
