UP: Noida Police arrest 5 people in Nigerian students assault case

In Uttar Pradesh, five persons have been arrested by Gautam Buddha Nagar Police for their alleged involvement in the Nigerian students attack case at Greater Noida today. FIR has been lodged against 12 persons.<br/><br/>As per reports available, during a candlelight protest march for a 17-year-old who died on Saturday, four Nigerian students were attacked. Local people alleged that the boy died after the Nigerians forced him to inhale drugs.<br/><br/>The boy's family has also accused the Nigerian students of murder and are demanding their arrest. A named FIR is lodged against five Nigerian students at Kasna police stations in this regard.<br/><br/>District police Chief Dharmendra Singh said that police is trying to identify those responsible for the incident on the basis of a video recording available with police. Meanwhile, an association of African students has asked the students to stay inside, and the police have deployed heavy security to prevent any further incidents of violence.<br/><br/>External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today spoke to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the incident seeking his interference. Mr Yogi has assured her for a fair and impartial investigation into the incident. Foreign students had demanded to Ms Swaraj for swift action against the culprits involved into the incident.<br/><br/>
