UP MLA’s to get 65 pc hike in salaries, allowances

In Uttar Pradesh, government announced about 65 per cent increase into the salaries and allowances of members of Uttar Pradesh Legislature. <br/><br/>It was announced on Monday in both the Houses of legislature by the Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati. <br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that first time government has made provision for pension to the wife or husband after death of the member. As per announcement of the Chief Minister, MLAs and MLCs will get 50 thousand rupees as salary and allowances in place of 30 thousand rupees.<br/><br/>Salaries and allowances of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Assembly and Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council and Leader of Opposition of both the Houses have also been increased.<br/>
