UP Lokayukta indicts former Labour Minister of Mayawati Govt

In Uttar Pradesh, Lokayukta Justice NK Mehrotra has indicted the former Labour Minister of the Mayawati government Badshah Singh for grabbing government land at his native town in Mahoba district. The Lokayukta has also recommended that Mr. Singh should never be considered for any constitutional post.Justice Mehrotra has sent his report to the Chief Minister after probing the allegations on a complaint lodged by a local resident from Mahoba. He has asked the government to take back the land and a fine imposed on Badshah Singh under the UP Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act. Our correspondent reports that an action-taken report has also been sought from the UP government within a month.Our correspondent reports that the Chief Minister Mayawati had removed Badshah Singh, an MLA from Maudaha assembly constituency, from her cabinet recently, in view of charges of corruption against him. Singh is the fourth minister in the Mayawati government to be indicted by the Lokayukta for corruption.
