Uttar Pradesh legislator Mukhtar Ansari, facing trial in a case for allegedly being a member of an organised crime syndicate, has been granted custody parole for 10 days by a Delhi court for campaigning in Lok Sabha polls.
Additional Sessions Judge Savita Rao allowed Ansari's plea that he was required to campaign for the polls. Ansari, who is also an accused in the 2005 murder case of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai, is contesting from Uttar Pradesh's Ghoshi constituency going to polls on May 12.
