In Uttar Pradesh, lawyers are observing protest day on Monday across the state in connection with killing of two lawyers in Mohammadi thesil in lakhimpur Khiri district on Saturday. Strict security arrangements have been places throughout the state. According to official sources the protest is peaceful and no untoward incident has been reported so far. The lawyers in all district courts are observing protest day against killing of their colleagues. The legal works in the district courts are also affected because lawyers are not taking part in court works today. Heavy deployments of police force have been placed in Lakhimpur khiri district. Including district courts, working in other government offices at thesil level also affected on Monday. According to reports lawyers are holding protest meeting in many districts including Lakahimpur. The High Court Bar Association also expressed its solidarity with lawyers and observing protest day. Meanwhile the Uttar Pradesh government has said that 35 lekhpals have been arrested so far. The UP Bar Council is also sending a delegation in Lakhimpur khiri .The UP lakehpal Sangh has also demanded free and fair inquiry in this matter. The Magisterial inquiry has begun in this case.
