UP issues advisory on Swine Flu

The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an advisory after several cases of swine flu were detected in the last fortnight particularly affecting the children. More than 50 people mostly children have been infected with thedisease so far in Lucknow with at least three people have died so far. A total of 142 people have been tested positive of the virus in the entire state from January this year, of them 8 have died so far. The advisory asked the schools to screen children having cough and fever at the time of morning assembly. Besides several preventive measures advised to the schools, theyhave also been asked to monitor the health status of such students and staff who might have come in contact with a suspected case of influenza A/H1N1.The state government had already set up a Swine Flu Control Room at the Health Department headquarters in the capital.
