170 Haj pilgrims have been blacklisted this year by Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee. After an enquiry, it was found that 152 people from the waiting list and 18 others were included in provisionally selected list by using unfair means. Chairman of State Haj Committee Uttar Pradesh and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Azam Khan has not ruled out the possibility of involvement of officials and employees of State Haj Committee and some Delhi and Mumbai based agencies in the fraud. An FIR has been lodged for strict action against those involved in scandal. Our correspondent reports that in Uttar Pradesh One hundred seventy persons were included in an unauthorized way in the main list of Haj pilgrims of the current year 2012. Briefing about the misconduct Haj and Waqf minister Shri Azam Khan told media that 152 persons of the waiting list have been included in the main list while 18 persons who even did not apply for the Haj pilgrimage have found place in the main list for Haj pilgrims in absolute violation of the rules. This illegal activity was continuously going on since last five years by tampering in the computer data of the state Haj Committee he suspected. Azam khan said that black sheep of State Haj Committee will be uncovered soon.Govt has ordered an inquiry by lodging FIR against all 170 persons along with ban on applying for Haj pilgrimage on them.”
