UP Govt to set up women police stations at 29 district HQs

In Uttar Pradesh the state government announced today for setting up women police stations at 29 district head quarters during current financial year. The government has issued sanction of required posts for these district level police stations which were announced for setting up during just concluded financial year.<br/> AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Ms Mayawati had announced just after coming into power for establishing women police stations at all district head quarters to check the violence and crime against women folk. During financial year 2008-09 women police stations were set up at 30 districts.<br/> During current year women police stations will be set up at the districts include Pilibhit, Hatharas, Etah, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Oriya, Lalitpur, Sitapur, Unnao, Hardoi, Barabanki, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Chitrakoot, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Mau, Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi, Kushi Nagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Bahraich, Shrawasti and Balrampur.
