The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to increase the monthly stipend of doctors doing internship as part of their medical course. The new stipend money will be Rs 7,500.per month. The Cabinet took this decision at a meeting chaired by chief Minster Mayawati in Lucknow on Friday. The new stipend will be effective with immediate effect. <br/> <br/>Earlier the doctors were given Rs 1,950 as stipend and that was modified in 1998. The new stipend will be given to the students who are studying in different courses like MBBS, BDS, BSMS and BUMS. <br/> <br/>Recently, medical students had organised protest march in different districts for an increase in their stipend. <br/> <br/>The centre gives Rs 8,900 per month to medical students.<br/>
