Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to hand over the probe of sale of 21 governmrnt sugar mills to Lokayukta. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by CM Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow today.

Earlier in June this year Samajwadi party government had announced on the floor of the house to conduct a high level inquiry into the alleged loss of 1200 crore rupees to the sate exchequer caused by the deal.

In another decision export of rice from the state has also been cleared. Cabinet also announced to introduce 300 more ambulances for the benefit of expecting mothers and common people as well, along with victims of road accident.
