Uttar Pradesh government has decided to amend Criminal Procedure Code, Cr.PC for rape related incidents to prevent crime against women. This was disclosed by Chief Minister Mayawati in Lucknow yesterday. She said, amendment will be made to complete trials of rape cases within six months. Ms Mayawati said, and offences of assault on women will be made non-bailable. She said an ordinance to this effect has been forwarded to the Governor.
