In Uttar Pradesh, four senior officials including both District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police Pratapgarh district have been suspended in the wake of alleged rape and murder of a girl and subsequent arson under Nawabganj police area. An agitated mob of thousands had torched several houses at village Asthan in Kunda Tehsil of the district on Saturday after an incident of alleged rape and murder of a minor Dalit girl. Large number of security and administrative officers are still deployed at the incident site for maintaining peace and law and order.
