Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh has demanded carving out a new state Purvanchal from the state. Talking to media persons today in Lucknow, the Additional Cabinet Secretary of the State Mr. Vijay Shankar Pandey told that Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati has written a letter to the Prime Minister in this regard . He said that Chief Minister has informed the centre that UP Assembly would pass a resolution in this regard after getting centre's nod on the proposal. Mr. Pandey said that Chief Minister has also demanded to the Prime Minister for sanctioning immediately special economic package of eighty thousand crore rupees for the development of Purvanchal a sent by the her government earlier. <br/>AIR Lucknow Correspondent reports that Ms. Mayawati has already demanded creation of Bundelkhand and Harit Pradesh. She has said that her party BSP is in favour of small states and districts for effective administration and over all development of the areas. <br/> <br/>
