UP govt serves chargesheet to Durga; sends report to Centre

Uttar Pradesh government served a charge sheet to suspended Sub Divisional Magistrate of Greater Noida, Durga Shakti Nagpal last evening.

The 2009 batch IAS officer was handed over a 10-page charge sheet and asked her to reply within 15 days. In the charge sheet, Ms Nagpal has been accused for not following procedures in the demolition of boundary wall of a religious structure.

She has also been charged for showing immature administrative approach towards the issue. The Department of Appointment of the Uttar Pradesh government has also sent the suspension order along with the charge sheet to the Department of Personnel and Training at the Centre.

Ms. Nagpal was suspended by the Samajwadi Party government on the 27th of last month for allegedly demolishing a wall of an under construction place of worship.

The suspended officer had led a crackdown on illegal sand mining in the catchment areas of the rivers Yamuna and Hindon in the district and got over two dozen FIRs registered against those involved in the mining activities.
