In Uttar Pradesh, the state government has clamped prohibitory orders and refused the Congress permission to take out a 'Nyaya' march today in Lucknow. The march was in protest against the alleged spurt in crimes in the state and to press for a CBI probe into the Dy. CMO Dr. Sachan's death in Lucknow jail.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that clamping prohibitory orders the Lucknow administration has expressed apprehensions for breach of peace and disruption in traffic during the Nyaya march. State Congress President Rita Bahuguna Joshi has strongly reacted over refusal and said her party was not expecting this decision from the BSP government as this was a peaceful march. She termed it a fascist style of functioning of the UP Government.In the wake of the Nyaya March, heavy police deployment has been made at Bal Bhawan from where it was scheduled to begin. A public meeting is being organised there by the party in which several senior leaders including party MPs, MLAs, former Chief Minister Ram Naresh Yadav and leader of the Congress legislative Party Pramod Tiwari are participating. A party spokesperson said leaders and workers will court arrest if Nyaya march will not be allowed.Meanwhile, the Lucknow police lodged an FIR yesterday at Gosaiganj police station against unknown persons for conspiracy and murder of jailed deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. YS Sachan. He was found dead on last Wednesday inside Lucknow jail.Union Minister of State for Steel Beni Prasad Verma has also demanded a CBI probe into the incident. He has said that the post-mortem report is crystal clear and it proves that Dr. Sachan was tortured due to which he died. All major opposition parties in the state have also accused the Mayawati government of shielding the accused in the case.Meanwhile, latest reports say most of the Congress leaders including MPs, MLAs, State Congress President Rita Bahuguna Joshi, leader of the Congress Legislature Party Pramod Tiwari and former Chief Minister of the State, Ram Naresh Yadav have been detained by the police when the tried to take out the Nyaya March at Lucknow. AIR correspondent reports, the detained leaders have been brought to Police Lines.
