In Uttar Pradesh, the state government has recommended CBI probe into killing of two Chief Medical officers – Dr. Vinod Kumar Arya and Dr. BP Singh. An official spokesperson told AIR Lucknow correspondent late Wednesday evening that the government has also recommended CBI probe into financial irregularities in the family welfare department. Three officials of the department including then Dy CMO Dr. YS Sachan were arrested in connection with financial irregularities. Recommending the probe by the premier probe agency, state government has said that for reasonable conclusion into mysterious death of Dr. Sachan into Lucknow district jail CBI probe was essential into murder of both CMOs and financial irregularities in the health department.Earlier, Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court asked the state government to file status report into investigation of murder of both CMOs Dr. VK Arya and Dr. B P Singh. A division bench comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi while hearing PIL seeking CBI probe into both the cases, also asked the government to reply why both the cases should not be handed over to CBI for investigation. The court has fixed 22nd of this month for further hearing into the case. Three PILs have been filed to the court seeking CBI probe into both the murders.
