Uttar Pradesh government has raised the age limit for appearing in the competitive examinations conducted by the state Public Service Commission (UPPSC) from the existing 35 years to 40 years. This was announced in the State Assembly by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohammad Azam Khan after the decision got the state Cabinet's nod. The decision will be effective for future examinations to be conducted from later this month.But it will have no effect on examinations for which advertisements have been issued. There has been no change in the terms and conditions.The government, however, clarified that though the age limit had been increased, the number of attempts available to applicants for a particular examination would remain the same. With this decision, the aspirants of Provincial Civil Services (PCS), PCS (Judicial) and other competitive examinations conducted by the UP Public Service Commission will be benefited.
