Uttar Pradesh government has decided to put into practice Prime Minister Narendra Modi's clarion call to eliminate single-use plastic and launched the renovation work of roads with the use of plastic in 9 cities.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Deputy Chief Minister of state Keshav Prasad Maurya has inaugurated the unique endeavor of government on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and said that the state's Public Works Department would use plastic waste in the construction of roads in future. He said that right now work for renovation and layering of roads started as a pilot project in 9 cities. <br />''<br />''In the first phase of the project roads will be renovated in Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Prajagraj, Jhansi, Kanpur, Bareilly and Agra districts. Sources said that the use of plastic waste in the roads will not only make them stronger but it will also pave way for better use of single-use plastic in state. Recently Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari have also launched the use of plastic waste in National Highways construction at Delhi-Ghaziabad border. </span><br />
