UP govt issues orders for strict compliance with Covid protocols during Chhath celebrations at banks of rivers, ponds

In Uttar Pradesh, the government has issued orders for the strict compliance with Covid protocols during celebration of Chhath festival at the banks of rivers and ponds. The administration is making arrangements for providing clean ghats and other facilities for the devotees.<br />'' <br />''A letter issued from the Additional Chief Secretary Home Avanish Awasthi to the police and district administration officials, stated that in view of the Chhath festival, women should be encouraged to celebrate the festival within their houses itself. It also says that strict guidelines for the social distancing must be followed at the ghats.<br />'' <br />''According to the home department's letter, adequate efforts should be made by the district administration and urban local bodies to install toilets at the banks of the rivers and water bodies. Arrangements for ambulance and drinking water should be made, and focus must be on cleanliness.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">No one will be allowed to reach  ghats without  wearing masks and maintaining 2 gaj ki doori will be compulsory. Covid help desks are also being established at the ghats for the awareness and helping the devotees. </span><br />
