In Uttar Pradesh, New Okhla Industrial Development Authority NOIDA, Greater NOIDA and Yamuna Expressway Authority have hiked the land compensation and land allotment rates by 12.5 per cent. It has been effective from 1st of last month. It was decided in the meeting of Authorities board held at Greater NOIDA in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that farmers from Gautam Buddha Nagar to Agra district will be benefited with enhancement in compensation rate. Due to increase into the rates of land allotment by the NOIDA and Greater NOIDA now prices of land per squire meter will be 17 thousand 820 to 49 thousand. Similarly minimum rates for biding of commercial plots will be 25 thousand 245 rupees per squire meter. Most of the farmer's associations and unions have rejected the decision for compensation enhancement. National General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Union Rakesh Tikait told our correspondent that enhancement was unreasonable and farmers would not accept it.Another farmer leader Chaudhary Kesari Singh from Gautam Buddha Nagar told that his organisation is totally against the land acquisition by the government. He demanded immediate amendment in present land acquisition act in the favour of farmers. Recently at Bhatta and Parsaul villages violent clashes between farmers and the police were witnessed in which four persons lost their lives. All major political parties and National Women Commission have demanded impartial probe into the incidents.
