The Uttar Pradesh government has distributed 48 lakh rupees as compensation to 120 families belonging Bhatta Parsaul villages in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. These families were affected during clashes between police and farmers on the 7th of last month while protesting against land acquisition. An official spokesperson told AIR correspondent that the families of the two farmers killed in police firing were given 5 lakh rupees each.
