In Uttar Pradesh, the government has directed to conduct a special drive to streamline sanitation, water supply and solid waste management in 14 major cities, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut and Ghaziabad and NOIDA. <br/> <br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports, the Chief Minister has directed that works like de-silting of drains and sewer lines be completed before June 15 this year and the repairing and other necessary works related to drinking water projects must be completed by 15th of next month on a priority basis. She said the garbage of cities should be lifted and dumped daily at the dumping site. <br/> <br/>Development Authorities, Nagar Nigam, P.W.D., Irrigation, Energy Departments and Police have been asked to extend full cooperation to the drive.<br/> <br/>She has also directed that the District Magistrates of concerned districts to monitor these works on a daily basis and Additional Cabinet Secretary of the state would review it fortnightly on first and third Monday of the month at State level.<br/>
