The Utter Pradesh government today decided to recommend a CBI probe into the gangrape and murder of two minor girls in Badaun. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said the government took the decision on the demand of the parents of the victims.

The family of two murdered girls had demanded a CBI probe into the incident saying they had no faith in local police.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who visited the village of the deceased two girls today, also supported the family's demand for CBI probe.

A team of National Commission for Women (NCW) had also faulted the local police and demanded a CBI probe.
