UP govt announces re-introduction of sports quota in govt jobs

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced re- introduction of sports quota in government jobs. Previous BSP government had abolished it in many departments. This was announced by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav while inaugurating a three-day senior national wrestling championship at Gonda. He said, all possible steps would be taken to promote and honour sportsmen in the state. Mr. Yadav also announced that multi-purpose halls will be built in the rural areas to offer a platform to the rural youth to show their sporting talents. He honoured Olympic medal winner wresters Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt in the function.
