Uttar Pradesh government today announced its new Industrial Policy .It totally exempts IT and food processing industry from stamp duty. The decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting headed by CM Akhilesh Yadav at Lucknow today.Briefing reporters about the policy, Industrial Development Commissioner A.K Gupta said hundred percent exemption in stamp duty will be given to all the industrial units established in Purvanchal, Madhyanchal and Budelkhand regions of the state. This will help in minimizing the industrial dis-balance of the state, he said. Likewise total exemption of stamp duty will also be given to industrial units who are engaged in road construction, electricity production,warehousing, wholesale, cold storage, IT and agricultural processing. Mr Gupta said that twenty five percent exemption in stamp duty will also be given to industrial units which are established in 'private industrial areas'. Iron and steel will be free from entry tax, he told.
