The Uttar Pradesh government today refused for setting up a judicial probe into Allahabad junction railway station stampede on Sunday.
Addressing a joint press conference with two cabinet ministers of state government and DGP, the Chief Secretary of the state Mr. Javed Usmani said today at Allahabad that senior most official of the state has been asked to probe into the incident.
He said Chairman Board of Revenue has been asked to complete his probe within one month.
He said that the inquiry officer will probe all aspects of the incident and also make suggestions to the government to check such incidents in future.
Talking to media persons the DGP A C Sharma said that a probe will also be conducted into the death of two pilgrims in the Mela area on Mauni Amawasya bathing day.
State Panchayati Raj Minister Balram Yadav said, providing best medical facilities to the injured and sending the pilgrims to their respective destinations are main priority of the state government.
He also said arrangements have also been made to dispatch the dead bodies of deceased to their homes.
