In Uttar Pradesh, Governor B.L. Joshi hoisted the magnificent tricolor at Rajbhawan in Lucknow. Later national flag was hoisted by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Vidhan Bhawan amid tight security arrangements.

Vidhan Bhawan in Lucknow was beautifully decorated with tricolor cloths and flowers of assorted colors. Addressing the gathering he mentioned about various welfare schemes run by his government. He also expressed his will to enhance the state GDP from current 6.5% to 10% in coming years. School children were seen bubbling with joy in various programmes organised in the different parts of the state and Capital Lucknow.
