The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered an inquiry in to the violence incident in Dasna area in Ghaziabad district in which six persons were killed and 12 injured following desecration of a holy book. Divisional Commissioner Meerut has been asked to conduct the inquiry. Police said, the situation is tense but under control. The State Government also announced a compensation of five lakh rupees each to the kin of those killed, 50,000 rupees each to those seriously injured and 25,000 rupees to those having minor injuries. Our correspondent reports that curfew continues in the area. Terming the incident as unfortunate, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that strict action will be taken against the officials found guilty of inordinate delay in taking prompt action.
