All arrangements are complete for third phase of polling in 56 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow.Security has been beefed up and the border with the adjoining states and Nepal has been sealed. 1018 candidates including 77 women are in the fray. 18,374 polling stations have been set UP for smooth and peaceful polling. Over 1 crore 78 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their right to franchise.Senior leaders of political parties addressed a number of rallies to seek the support of voters. The main contest is among BSP, SP, BJP, Congress and RLD. Many senior leaders of these parties are in the contest in this phase.AIR correspondent reports that voting in the first two phases was higher than the previous elections. It remained around 60 per cent.Meanwhile, electioneering is gathering momentum for the rest of the four phases in the states. A total of 1114 candidates are in the fray for the sixth phase. Today the scrutiny of nominations papers for the 7th and final phase took place. Candidates can withdraw their nominations till Thursday.In Goa, the last date for withdrawal of nominations is 16th of this month and votes for the 40-member assembly will be cast on 3rd of March.The counting of votes for all the states will be take place on 6th of next month.
