Widespread rain and heavy discharge of water from the barrages of Uttrakhanad and Nepal regions have worsened the flood situation in Uttar Pradesh. A huge population is continuously reeling under the floods in eleven districts of the sub Himalayan Terai region and eastern part of the state. According to the report of central water commission all the major rivers are in spate and most of them flowing above the danger mark at many places. The Ganga is on the surge in Farrukhabad, Raebareli and Ballia, Betwa in Jalaun while Ken in Banda. Ghaghra, Rapti, Sharda and Quano which are flowing above the danger level at many places, are also reported to be on the rising trend. The Met department has forecast moderate rain at several places with heavy rainfall at few places in the next 24 hours.
