In Uttar Pradesh, an FIR was filed today against six health officials, including the chief medical officer and his deputy, after a missing health department accountant was found dead under mysterious circumstances. UP police had found the body of 52-year-old Mahendra Sharma with severe injuries on his head and face from the Pasgawan health centre area in Lakhimpur Kheri district two days ago.Sharma is the fifth person connected with the NRHM scam to have been found dead in the last one year after the alleged bungling of over 10,000 crore rupees came to light.
